　世界トップの男女共同参画社会を築いているスウェーデンだが、それでもまだ育児休業取得率や男女の賃金に若干の差があるなど、100％男女平等社会には届かない。政府の調査委員会の報告書には、「これだけ男女平等政策を打ち出しても、真の男女共同参画社会に至らないのなら、もう女性が性転換するしかない」というような過激な文面まで出て、その意気込みをアピールしている。
　これら政府の積極的な取り組みは、スウェーデンの国会議員の半数近くが女性であるためだと思われがちだが、それだけではない。スウェーデンの場合、男性議員であってもしっかりしたフェミニズムの支店を持つ人材が多いのである。

Sweden has achieved No.1 in "The Global Gender Gap Report " by World Economic Forum as a country which has the smallest "gender gap" in which Japan is ranked 79th. (http://www.weforum.org/en/initiatives/gcp/Gender%20Gap/index.htm) What make these two countries so different in the ranking are; The participation of women in business and the participation of women in politics. In Sweden not only the fact that women are taking up nearly half of the chair in the parliament, but also many of men believe in feminism, which has been driving the government to act upon equal opportunity.
